Things that will definitely be covered are: playing with chords (what chords are there, how to play them and what can you do with them?). How can you accompany someone on the piano? What does improvisation actually entail? Learning to play in different styles. And of course, lots and lots of tips & tricks. But most important of all: having fun by making music! Of course, there will be a lot of playing together (playing the piano with Cor) and we will work towards a final concert at the end of the week!

All participants have access to a piano in their own room.

Cor Bakker graduated cum laude from the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music, did additional studies in Los Angeles, and then served as principal study teacher at the Utrecht Conservatory for a number of years. With these tools in his toolbox, he founded pianospelenmetcor.nl eight years ago; a platform with an extensive range of online courses. By means of a self-developed methodology, Cor teaches beginners how to play the piano ‘from scratch’ and allows fairly advanced pianists to raise their level even further. The online platform proved to meet a great need; with over 30,000 relationships, pianospelenmetcor has grown to become the largest music school in the Netherlands.

Because of his busy work as a performing pianist, Cor never really does ‘live’ piano lessons anymore. While that, both for the lessons and for Cor’s own pleasure, is ultimately the best option! An extraordinary opportunity for the participants and the teacher to have private lessons on Bonaire under the most ideal circumstances in as many facets of piano playing as possible.
